A round of seven

The eighth annual music festival will be held for the first time in the Sapta Swara Devatha Mandira in Rudrapattana, Arakalagudda taluk in Hassan district from May 15 to 17. Chairman of Rudrapattana Sangeethothsava Trust R.k.Padmanabha said the mandira- the first of its kind in the world and constructed at a cost of Rs.1 crore -is built in the form of a tambura. The building had seven steps and seven gopuras and each gopuram represents an instrument. There are many specialities to this 68- foot high building. The building is dedicated to Goddess Saraswathi, the great musician.

Mr. Padmanabha said the lawn around the mandira will have seven different plants, seven different flowers and seven musical fountains in different colors.

On the occasion, Nachavanna Prashasti will be conferred on Bangalore- based professor A.H.Rama Rao at the valedictory function on May 17.
